The SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard unexpectedly runs when you use quiet mode to install 2007 Microsoft Office System Servers or Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and you apply a service pack, an update, or a hotfix
SYMPTOMS
You use quiet mode to install any of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section. If you also apply a service pack, an update, or a hotfix package during the installation, the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard unexpectedly runs after the installer program has finished.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, extract the service pack, the update, or the hotfix package files. Then, copy the files to the Updates folder of the program's release version. After the extracted files are copied to that location, the Updates folder is updated. Then, the folder is ready to be used to install the release version of the program that is updated to the service pack level, to the update level, or to the hotfix package level.
To update a release version of a program to a service pack level, an update level, or a hotfix package level, follow these steps:
To update a release version of a program to a service pack level, an update level, or a hotfix package level, follow these steps:
- Use the /extract command-line switch to extract the files from the service pack, from the update, or from the hotfix package to a folder.
- For the programs that you are updating, copy the following extracted files to the Updates folder.
Note The Updates folder is in the location in which you previously copied the program's release version.- All .msp files from the service pack, from the update, or from the hotfix package for the program that you are updating.
- If you are installing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007, or Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, copy the Svrsetup.dll file to the Updates folder. This file can be obtained by extracting the files from the 2007 Microsoft Office servers Service Pack 1 (SP1).
- If you are installing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, copy the WSSsetup.dll file to the Updates folder. This file can be obtained by extracting the files from Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1.
Notes- If you install SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 at the same time, do not include the Wsssetup.dll file in the Updates folder.
- The SupplementalEula_OfficeServer_en-us.txt file does not have to be copied to the Updates folder.
