Links LS 98 Err Msg: DirectDraw Init Failed on Windows NT 4.0-Based Computer

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start Links LS 1998 Edition or
Microsoft Golf 2001 Edition, you may receive the following error message:
DirectDraw Init Failed
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if Links LS 98 or Golf 2001 is
installed on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, download and install Windows NT 4.0
Service Pack 5 from the following Microsoft Web site:

MORE INFORMATION
Support for Microsoft DirectX is not built in to Windows NT
4.0. To add DirectX 3.0 support to Windows NT 4.0, install Windows NT 4.0
Service Pack 3 or later.
