Links LS 98 Err Msg: Could Not Find Dialog Resource

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to play Links LS 1998 Edition with other players, you may receive the following error message:
Could not find dialog resource.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Winres98.ls file is missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type winres98.ls.
  3. In the Look In box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
  4. In the list of found files, right-click the Winres98.ls file, and then click Delete. If you are prompted to confirm the file deletion, click Yes.

    NOTE: If the Winres98.dll file does not appear in the list of found files, proceed to the next step.
  5. Close the Find: Files Named Winres98.ls window.
  6. Reinstall Links LS 98.
