An error occurs when you install Visual Studio products

When you install Microsoft Visual Studio products on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, you may see the following event viewer error message:

This problem has one of the following causes:

• The wrong Virtual Device Driver is installed for the operating system.
• The Virtual Device Driver is incorrectly configured.

You can troubleshoot the error message by using either the FileMon.exe file or the RegMon.exe file.

FileMon is a third-party tool that you can use to monitor file activity. The system is interrupted before the Setup.exe file opens. Neither Visual Studio nor the MSDN Library is installed.
