How to Upgrade from Virtual PC Versions 2 and 3 to Virtual PC 5

Follow these steps in the order that they are presented in to fully upgrade to Virtual PC 5.
- Install Virtual PC 5 on your computer.
Follow the instructions that are provided with the software to upgrade the older version of Virtual PC correctly. - After you have installed Virtual PC 5, start the program, and then start the virtual machine that contains the Windows operating system that you want to update.
- The Windows operating system will prompt you to insert the Windows installation CD.
If your version of Virtual PC 5 includes a separate CD that contains the Windows Setup files, insert that disc in the CD-ROM drive. Otherwise, insert the Virtual PC 5 disc. - Click OK.
Windows Setup starts and begins to install the files and the drivers. - When Setup completes, click Yes to restart Windows.
- After Windows restarts, click VPC Additions on the Virtual PC Toolbar.
- Click Install Additions.
This will update Virtual PC Additions to version 5.
