File Name Is Truncated After You Drag a File to or from a Virtual Machine

You have a file that has a file name that is longer than 31 characters. If you drag the file to a virtual machine or from a virtual machine to the Macintosh desktop or to a folder, the file name is truncated and the Microsoft Windows file name extension (such as .txt) is lost.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. Microsoft is currently researching this problem and hopes to resolve this problem in a future release of Virtual PC.
