Guest operating system keyboard does not respond in Virtual PC

SYMPTOMS

When you start a guest operating system in Connectix Virtual PC, the keyboard may not respond in the guest operating system.

CAUSE

Sometimes, this issue may occur if the guest operating system does not detect that a modifier (CTRL, ALT, or SHIFT) key is released on the keyboard.

Note For a modifier key to remain pressed, you do not have to press the modifier key on the keyboard. Sometimes, a modifier key remains pressed while the guest operating system is in a transition state. For example, during the installation of a guest operating system, the CTRL key may remain pressed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Click in the guest PC window.
  2. On the keyboard, press and release each modifier key separately.

STATUS
