Mouse Pointer Disappears or Changes to a Square in a Guest PC
SYMPTOMS
When you start a guest PC, the pointer may disappear or may change to a square in the guest PC.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when either of the following conditions is true:
- The Enable pointer shadow check box is selected.
- The guest PC is accessed remotely.
RESOLUTION
Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
To resolve this problem, click to clear the Enable pointer shadow check box in the guest PC. To do this, follow these steps:

- Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Mouse.
- In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Pointers tab, and then click to clear the Enable pointer shadow check box.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
