Guest PC Remains in Full-screen Mode When You Shut Down the Guest PC's Operating System

SYMPTOMS

If you set the password security setting so that you must use a password to exit from full-screen mode, the guest PC may not completely close to the host PC's desktop when you shut down the guest PC's operating system. Instead, the guest PC remains in full-screen mode, and you receive the following message:
It is now safe to turn off your computer.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because, when you must use a password to exit from full-screen mode, when you shut down the guest PC, the guest PC remains in full-screen mode to help protect the host PC's operating system from unauthorized use.

RESOLUTION

To exit the guest PC's operating system, follow these steps:
  1. Hold down the host key (typically, the right ALT key), and then press ENTER.
  2. In the Password box, type the password to exit full-screen mode.
You may then close the virtual PC's window. If you want to restart the guest PC, hold down the host key, and then press R.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
