How Groove handles restricted features when you use a Trial or a Preview edition of Groove, and you are a member of a workspace that includes licensed users

INTRODUCTION

This article discusses how Groove handles restricted features when you use Groove Virtual Office 3.x Trial Edition or Groove Workspace 2.x Preview Edition, and you are a member of a workspace that includes licensed users.

MORE INFORMATION

If a feature is unavailable in the Trial or the Preview edition of Groove, menu commands and buttons for that feature are unavailable. For example, if you have Groove Virtual Office 3.x Trial Edition, you will see the command for the reporting feature in the Task Manager tool. However, the command will be unavailable.

Groove creates a limit to the number of objects that you can view. If a feature that is used in the workspace is limited by quantity in your Trial or Preview edition of Groove, objects that you view count against this limit. However, this limit does not restrict editing.

Groove Virtual Office 3.x Trial Edition is limited primarily by the 60-day trial period. However, many features of the Groove Workspace 2.x Preview Edition are limited by quantity. Examples of these limitations are as follows:
  • When a licensed user creates four meetings, a Groove Workspace 2.x Preview Edition user can create one more. Then the limit of five meetings is reached.
  • When a licensed user creates six meetings, a Groove Workspace 2.x Preview Edition user can view and modify them all, but cannot create any more meetings.
  • When a licensed user creates three forms, a Groove Workspace 2.x Preview Edition user can view and modify them all, but cannot create any more forms.
The exception is the workspace limit. As soon as you have three workspaces in a Trial or a Preview edition, you cannot accept invitations to any more workspaces. This situation occurs because a local copy of the workspace cannot be created.
