Error message when you try to install Groove Virtual Office 3.x on a Windows Server 2003-based computer: "The following files did not self-register or unregister"

If you try to install Groove Virtual Office 3.x on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may receive the following error message:

This problem occurs because Windows Server 2003 does not include the Atl71.dll file that the Groove installation requires.

To work around this problem, visit the following Web site to download the Atl71.dll file: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.

Install the Atl71.dll file in the following folder:Note After you install the Atl71.dll file, you must restart the computer. Then, reinstall Groove.

Windows Server 2003 is not a supported operating system for Groove Virtual Office 3.x and for earlier versions of Groove. The workaround that is described in the "Workaround" section is provided for the convenience of those customers who use Windows Server 2003 and who cannot currently upgrade to Microsoft Office Groove 2007. The workaround is not part of the Groove release tests.
