How to associate a preexisting Groove user on the Groove domain manager with a new entry imported from an LDAP directory server
INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to associate a preexisting Groove
user on Microsoft Office Groove Server 2007 or on Groove Enterprise Management Server with a new entry obtained from a Lightweight
Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory server. Active Directory, IPlanet, and Lotus Domino R5 (or
later) support LDAP access.

A preexisting Groove identity will not link to a newly
added LDAP entry when you synchronize to the LDAP directory server. This behavior
occurs because Groove users are not uniquely identified by identity name.
Instead, a newly imported user will be created that has the same name or a
similar name. At that point, you can convert the LDAP-imported user to the
identity of the existing user and maintain all the user's shared workspace
memberships.
The established or manually created identity will appear as Active. The imported user will appear as Pending because that user has not been enabled.
To do this for a user running Microsoft Office Groove 2007, follow these steps:

To do this for a user running Microsoft Office Groove 2007, follow these steps:
- Copy the account configuration code that is associated with the imported identity.
- Send the account configuration code to the user. In the same message, instruct the user to log on to Groove by using the user's established identity, and then to run the account configuration wizard.
- Copy the activation key that is associated with the imported identity.
