You cannot import combined Microsoft Project files to the TeamDirection Project tool in Groove
SYMPTOMS
You cannot import the following Microsoft Project files
to the TeamDirection Project tool in Groove Virtual Office and in Groove
Workspace:
- Combined Microsoft Project files
- Microsoft Project files that include a master project and sub-projects that all contain tasks
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the TeamDirection Project tool
does not examine tasks in the master project when you import Microsoft Project
files. The tool examines tasks only in the sub-projects. Most master projects
do not have tasks, but have only sub-projects.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, sequentially import the Microsoft
Project files into the TeamDirection Project tool when you want to combine two
Microsoft Project files.
When you import one Microsoft Project file into the TeamDirection Project tool, and then import a second Microsoft Project file into the same tool, the data from the second file is added to the top of the data from the first file. If you want the data from a particular file on top, make sure that you import that file last.
