Replies to messages that you open from message alerts may not use the option that is configured in the Groove Message History

INTRODUCTION

When you reply to a message that you opened from the message alert in Microsoft Office Groove 2007 or an earlier version of Groove, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • The reply does not include the message history even though the Include history in replies check box is selected in the Message History window.
  • The reply includes the message history even though the Include history in replies check box is not selected in the Message History window.

The Include history in replies setting can be changed in the Message History window or in the Messenger utility.

Note The Messenger utility displays messages when you open them from their message alerts.

When you change the Include history in replies setting in the Messenger utility, this new setting is not immediately applied in the Message History window. Additionally, this new setting is saved as the default setting in the Messenger utility. However, the Message History window will continue to use the previous setting until the next time that the window is opened.

For example, you click to select the Include history in replies check box in the Message History window and then leave the window open. Then, you open a new message from its message alert. You click to clear the Include history in replies check box in the reply to this message, and then you send the reply. Subsequent messages that you open from their message alerts will not have the Include history in replies check box selected, and the replies that you send will not include the message history. However, if you open messages from the Message History window, the Include history in replies check box will be selected, and the replies that you send will include the message history. The check box will remain selected until you close and then reopen the Message History window.
