Error message when you try to add a Form Heading field to a Form view in Groove Virtual Office: "Invalid Column Selection"
SYMPTOMS
You create a new Form Heading field while you have a view open in Groove Virtual Office. When you do this, Groove incorrectly displays the new field in the list of selectable fields. When you try to select the Form Heading field, you receive the following error message:
Invalid Column Selection: You can only add persistable fields to views.
The selected field is not a persistable field.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the Form Heading field in this list is a display error. Only persistable fields can be added to views.
MORE INFORMATION
Persistable fields are fields that can hold data in the user data records. There is no reason to add a form heading to a view, because the form heading is always the same. No data is ever saved from a form heading field.
In Groove Virtual Office 3.0, when you switch to a new view, or switch in and out of the view, the new field is correctly removed from the list. If you are viewing the form when you add the field and then switch to a view, the new field is not displayed on the list.
This issue is resolved in Groove Virtual Office 3.1. The field is never added to the list of selectable fields.
