Description of Duet for Microsoft Office and SAP Service Pack 1

Microsoft has released a service pack for Duet for Microsoft Office and SAP. This article contains the following information about the service pack:

Duet for Microsoft Office and SAP SP1 fixes the problems that are described in the following hotfix packages:
Additionally, Duet for Microsoft Office and SAP SP1 fixes the following issues. These issues were not previously documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

• The data cache may be updated unexpectedly
  
  In some scenarios, the Duet data cache on the client computer may be updated or recached unexpectedly. This problem may occur even if no changes have been made.
• Authentication certificates may not be available
  
  X509 Authentication certificates may not be available on the client computer when the Duet utility starts. In the new Group Policy Administrative Template that is included in this service pack, a new group of settings have been added to the "Outlook Extension" settings for enabling use of X509 Authentication. These new settings are labeled "Authentication."
• Data caching may occur at the same time for many client computers
  
  Data caching may occur for many client computers at the same time. This problem may cause performance issues. To resolve this problem, some randomization has been added to the time interval that is used to determine when to cache updated data.
• Duet may not start when "Outlook Today" is set as the default folder
  
  When "Outlook Today" is set as the default folder in Microsoft Outlook, Duet may not work as expected.

List of improvements that the service pack provides

• The Sweeper now waits for the first sweep interval
  
  The schedule for the Sweeper has been modified to wait for the first sweep interval instead of running immediately after Outlook is started. A new entry that is labeled "First Sweep Interval" has been added to the Group Policy Administrative Template. This entry lets you set how many minutes to wait after Outlook starts before the first sweep is run.
• The CMP time interval can now be configured independently of the Sweeper
  
  The Sweeper and the Control Message Processor (CMP) run on the same time interval. The CMP time interval can now be configured independently of the Sweeper. The default Sweeper interval is now 60 minutes. The default CMP interval is 5 minutes. These settings can be configured by setting the value for "Sweep Interval" and for "Control Message Processing Interval" in the new Group Policy Administrative Template.
