When browsing gaming menus, Games for Windows LIVE games freeze

SYMPTOMS

When you browse gaming menus, Games for Windows LIVE games may become unresponsive or freeze. Additionally, you may experience this issue during game play.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when you run the game on a computer that uses an AMD Dual-Core processor. AMD Dual-Core processors may cause instability when programs bypass the Windows API and directly use the Read Time Stamp Counter (RDTSC) instructions.

Install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer
