How IT administrators can block Live Mesh on their networks
SUMMARY
Live Mesh enables users to use Remote Desktop to synchronize their files across multiple devices, independent of their location or network topology. Network administrators may seek to prevent this kind of access to or from their environments. This article describes how to do this.

The recommended way to block Live Mesh is to disallow network traffic to the Live Mesh Services. This action will block the Live Mesh client from communicating with other devices. To prevent all access to Live Mesh Services, you can block HTTP and HTTPS traffic to mesh.com and to all sub-domains.
If you want to enable access to the Live Mesh Web experience but disallow Live Mesh clients (Live Remote and Live Folders), you can block HTTP and HTTPS traffic to the following Live Mesh Web sites:
