SP 54251: Buffer under-run errors are causing CD/DVD burns to fail in RealPlayer

Symptom: When burning a CD/DVD, the operation fails due to a buffer under-run error. The following error message may be displayed.
Error Message: “A buffer under-run error has occurred. Please try selecting a slower Write Speed in Drive Options, or close some applications before attempting your burn again. (1012)”
Resolution: Modify the system registry settings to enable the Track-At-Once (TAO) writing mode.
Additional Information: Buffer under-run errors are often caused by attempting to burn with the CPU-intensive Disk-At-Once (DAO) writing mode. CPU-intensive tasks can cause the CD-ROM drive to constantly interrupt the CPU to read the inserted disc. To work around this issue, change the writing mode to the less CPU-intensive Track-At-Once (TAO) write mode.
