SP 52476: Enable Zip files to be downloaded in Internet Explorer

Symptom: When downloading a Zip (.zip) file in Internet Explorer, the file appears to download, but the file compression program opens up to a blank page. When you search for the Zip file, you are unable to locate it on your hard disk. Also, if you are running Microsoft Windows XP, and you use the Compressed (zipped) Folders feature as your file compression program, you receive an error message.
Error Message: “The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted.”
Resolution: Modify the system registry settings to enable downloading of Zip files in Internet Explorer.
