SP 53272: Disable the “Distributed Link Tracking Client” service to improve system boot
Symptom: When you start the Services applet in “Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools”, the “Startup Type” setting for the “Distributed Link Tracking Client” service may be set to “Automatic” or “Manual”.
Resolution: Modify the system registry settings to disable the “Distributed Link Tracking Client” service in Windows.
Additional Information: The “Distributed Link Tracking Client” service helps maintain links between NTFS files within a computer or across computers in a network domain. This service is for users who are in a domain that have distributed links and a NTFS file system. If these conditions do not apply to your system, disable this service to speed up the system boot.
