SP 52246: The Intel PRO/1000 PL wired connection fails to connect after resuming from standby
Symptom: When your computer is connected to a network via a wired connection, the “Deep Smart Power Down” feature on your computer may be causing the network connection to fail when your computer resumes from standby mode.
Resolution: This change will examine the system registry and modify the settings to disable the “Deep Smart Power Down” feature.
Additional Information: The purpose of the “Deep Smart Power Down” feature is to conserve battery life when the wired connection is not in use, allowing the system to turn off the on-board Ethernet connection when the network cable is not attached. The system should turn the wired connection back on when the AC power adapter is connected to your computer.
