SP 50956: Online media files cannot be accessed by Windows Media Player

Symptom: When you click on a link to a media file, Windows Media Player is unable to play the selected file. An error message indicating that a network firewall may be preventing access to the selected file is displayed.
Error Message: “Windows Media Player cannot play the file. A network firewall may be preventing the Player from opening the file by using the UDP transport protocol. To play this file, try opening the file without specifying UDP.” If you click on the “More Information” button in the error dialog, you will find the error code associated with this problem will be C00D11B6.
Resolution: This change will restore access to online media files by examining the system registry settings and modifying the network settings for the Windows Media Player.
