SP 53808: Cannot start the Windows Meeting Space feature

Symptom: When you try to use Windows Meeting Space (WMS) on a Windows Vista-based computer, an error message is displayed.
Error Message: “Group Policy might be preventing you from changing firewall settings. For assistance, contact your network administrator or technical support.”
Additional Information: This problem occurs when a Group Policy object (GPO) prevents the Windows Firewall from accessing the local firewall rules. WMS tries to open many firewall ports when it starts, and the firewall tries to apply the local firewall rules that are specified in the currently active profile. However, the Group Policy object prevents Windows Firewall from accessing the local firewall rules.
Resolution: This change will examine the system registry and modify the group policy settings to enable the Windows Firewall to access the local firewall rules. This will then allow Windows Meeting Space to properly interact with the Windows Firewall.
