SP 52357: Restore file and folder “Search” in Windows

Symptom: When you select “All files and folders” in “Start -> Search” and initiate a search, you may receive a Search Companion pop-up window that displays an error message.
Error Message: “Unexpected Error. Action could not be completed.”
Resolution: Modify the system registry settings to restore “Search” for files and folders.
