SP 52526: No options under “Use Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)”

Symptom: When you try to configure Logon Security in the Advanced Security Settings dialog box for a dial-up connection or for a wireless connection, the “Smart card or other certificate” and “MD5-Challenge” options are missing under the “Use Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)” section.
Resolution: Modify the system registry settings to restore the “Use Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)” options in the Advanced Security Settings dialog.
